March Lychee Update: Peas and Surf

Aloha from Mauna Kai in Honomu! We are a few short months away from lychee season and are busy readying the orchard. Right now the fruit is about the size of a pea, so we are anticipating harvest time to be around late May / early June. If you haven't already, sign up for our mailing list to make sure you get notified when our lychee is ready for shipment! Healthy rainfall has ensured we've had no shortage of epic double rainbows here at the farm:

In other local news, the surf's been way, way up the past week with some of the largest waves seen in a decade rolling through Hilo Bay due to a storm swell off the California coast. Mauna Kai's local surf break, Honoli'i saw plenty of action. Here's a photo of Mauna Kai Orchard's friend Will heading out on a less stormy day just last month:
